What is it?

GeoQuickLaunch is one of the newest Geoshell plugins. It is used to replace the QuickLaunch functionality of Explorer, by creating shortcut buttons on you bar from the files in any given folder..

The various settings combine to give you many many options for displaying shortcut buttons, but keep a few things in mind:

  • To use "Large Icons" you need to either not skin the bar, or have a LargeIconSkin which has at least 40 pixels (46 pixel skins, with up to 3 pixels on each side of magic pink for "skinny" mode).
  • To use captions that aren't in the same direction as the bar (eg: horizontal captions on a vertical bar, or vertical on a horizontal bar) you again need to not skin the bar, or use a custom bar skin that's even wider, by the size of your "Caption Space" setting.

Settings

There are only four settings for QuickLaunch:

Setting Type Meaning
QuickLaunch Path String The full path to the folder you want to create buttons from.
Caption Drawn Horizontally Boolean 0 for vertical text, 1 for horizontal text.
Caption Space Number The number of extra pixels you want to allow for the button text (0 to just show icons)
Show Large Icons Boolean 0 to use normal 16x16 pixel icons, 1 to use large 32x32 pixel icons
