GeoShell has several core services which are available for plugins and in some cases for end-users. Specifically: the Tasks Service, the Hotkey Service, the Launch Service, and the Menu Service.
- Custom Menus — are defined in the registry and can be called up using HotKeys, plugin buttons (GeoMenu, GeoMenuLaunch, or EButton) on bars, or desktop mouse clicks.
- HotKeys — Hotkeys are sometimes called "chords" because they require pressing two or more keys simultaneously
- Available Keys — Here is a list of keyboard keys and how to enter them in the registry for use with Geoshell's Hotkey System.
- Keystroke Sequences — a guide to setting up GeoShell so that you can launch any application you regularly use with two keystrokes or less.
- Standard HotKeys — An explaination of the default hotkeys that come preconfigured in GeoShell
- Task Settings — The GeoShell "TasksService" is used to provide information about running applications to various plugins and menus
