Want to chat to GeoShell users?

If you do, then you should get hold on a IRC client for Windows (X-Chat, mIRC, GeoIRC) and connect to irc.geoshell.org and join channel #GeoShell.

What the heck is IRC?

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. There are many IRC servers out there, each can have thousands of channels (chat rooms, basically) where people talk all day long. It can get a little addictive.

If you want some more help with IRC, I suggest you take a look at IRCHelp - this will get you off to a good start.

IRC Goodies!

GeoBot is an IRC bot that joins us in #GeoShell, he does all sorts of interesting things, aswell as keep the idlers company.

Why should I bother?

  • If you're stuck, you can join the channel and get realtime help from some of the more experienced users or even the developers themselves.
  • You will also get access to the more bleeding edge beta builds, if you're into that sort of thing. Releases often go out to #GeoShellers before they're announced on the boards and websites.
